Registration or Re-Registration a)
Registration Formalities
The
administrative forms required from each student include ·
the school file and leaving certificate (exeat)
from the principal of the last school attended by the student ·
the last three term reports ·
a copy of the student’s health certificate
and proof of vaccinations ·
completion of all forms supplied by the FSG ·
proof of payment of school fees Registration (or re-registration) will not be effective until all forms are provided, especially the proof of payment of school fees. The school fees will be calculated on a trimester basis. For more information, please consult the financial rules of the FSG, or ask the school’s accountant. b) Forms of Payment Payment can be made to the
director of the school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between
1 :00 and 2 :00 in
the afternoon. Payment will
only be accepted in USD cash, or by bank credit transfer. If payment is made by credit transfer, a copy of this must be
given to the director and a receipt will be issued.
NB.
Bank fees are not covered by the school.
School
fees are billed to each family at the beginning of each trimester.
The costs of office supples and textbooks for the students are
included in the school fees. Those fees for extra-curricular activities, lunch, and the
school bus are also paid each trimester.
Health insurance fees are paid in September for the entire year.
(*)
The insurance is obligatory for all students who are not already
affiliated with SOS through their parents.
It includes immediate medical attention in case of an emergency
during school hours and on the school bus.
It also covers an emergency trip the S.O.S. hospital and evacuation
to Hong Kong if necessary. (**)
A discount is possible for families assuming the fees themselves. Please
contact us. At
the start of the school year, registration becomes effective after the fees
for the first term are received. If
the student registers during the school year, and more than half of the term
has already been completed, a 20% reduction of that term’s fees will be granted. The
management office of Gold Arch Riverdale has established a bus schedule for
morning and evening service. The
fees for this bus service are for the entire term, and cannot be reduced for
infrequent or irregular users. Access to this bus is strictly reserved for
students and residents of Gold Arch. School
bus supervision is provided between the school and designated stops. Each
student or parent riding the bus must have a pass for the trimester,
available for purchase from the school director.
Individual tickets may
be purchased from the Gold Arch Management
office. (5RMB per ride) See
the below chart for pick-up times and locations.
Please inform the bus supervisor if your child (who normally takes
the bus) will not be on the bus that day.
Lunch
service is provided in the Club House of Gold Arch every school day, and is
supervised by the teachers. The
menus are chosen by the teachers and the restaurant staff, and the menu for
the month is posted in the school. Lunch
fees are paid per trimester (RMB22
per meal), whether the student is present to eat, or not. In special cases, money may be reimbursed (prolonged absence
with a medical certificat, unexpected departure from the school). 6)
Extra-Curricular Activities There
are no courses for the students on Wednesday afternoons. However, the school
may offer extra-curricular activities at this time. The organization of the activities depends on the availabity
of people willing to lead these classes.
The fees for these activities must be covered by the parents (50RMB
per student per Wednesday), payable at the beginning of each semester, and
is non-refundable.
When
a child is absent, the school must be informed as soon as possible (school
phone: 8735-2495, or mobile:
13006879160) Occasional absences are not reason for a reduction or refund
of any of the school fees (registration, lunch, bus). A reimbursement may be considered by the Parent’s
Association if there has been a prolongued absence, justified with a medical
slip.
Families
leaving Guangzhou must inform the teacher and the director of their
departure as soon as possible. Thus,
all formalities can be taken care of without delay.
